Brilliant t loved watching this video , I have been to Benidorm more than 10 times , even had my honeymoon there in 1979, and never knew that the pontiente beach and this area went on for so long , will be visiting in October 😊
Thank you Lucy the video was very interesting. We have never walked that for along Poniente beachfront. Will definitely walk there next time in Benidorm xx ❤
Great video Lucy... I'm guilty of never going over that side off benidorm.. Thanks you so much for showing us a little... Would love to see more please. will definitely going over there next visit in November.
Fantastic video Lucy. That was such a nice trip down memory lane. It was 50 yeas ago that I first visited the far end of Playa Poniente and unlike Levante, it dosn't seem to have changed that much. I always wanted to stay in the Gran Delfin but it was always far too expensive. It has never ceased to amase me how diverse Benidorm really is. It's a shame that so many Brits and Irish miss out on this fabulous part of our favorite town.😀👍👍
What a lovley blog and love the beach did not no there were a lot of beachs and a lot more resturants and bars well next year when i get back over to benidorm i will take a walk down there keep safe and keep smiling
oooh thanks lucy and partner, loved this video and a night time one would be amazing. my favourite part of beni, even tho i only ever walk there, never stayed!! keep up your amazing good work. 🥰
Hi Lucy, that looks like the perfect place to chill out and recover for a few days. I will definitely try it next time. Love the videos keep up the good work.
I remember walking along there when I 1st went to Benidorm about 6 yrs ago.. I didnt know my way around at all but got to the dove park & just kept walking! Looks very different now..I went back one evening & ate at a really wonderful fish restaurant, it was a beautiful place to sit & look out to sea with a drink in hand!
Great video Lucy. We love the Poniente side of Benidorm and go for an early evening walk here. it's busy with Spanish walkers but despite being busy it has a very different vibe than the Levante side. I must admit we normally stop where the painted prom stops so we are determined to get to that last bar when we come over in a few months time. Please do more reviews here.
Hi Lucy a fantastic video as ever I really like the poniente beach side and stayed at the villa del mar Hotel “ I’m sure that’s the name? “ it’s lovely . I really like the apartment block black smallish building with the pool and palms on the roof Kind regards Philip Loughton Essex
We stay in La Cala every year and love walking over the hill to all the beautiful places to eat at this end. So relaxed. Also great to get bus into Benidorm and have the lovely walk back in the evening along the promenade which is beautiful. Loving all the videos.
This is my favourite part of Benidorm right to the bottom end of Poniente where it feels a world away from the trashy British Bars, keep going a bit further to Cala Finastrat and its even nicer. I walk this route every day when Im on holiday over there.
The view from the Old Roman fort looking across the bays of Benidorm is great as well. We live inland and rarely venture to the Levante end these days.
Thanks for featuring the Poniente Beach area Lucy, we have an apartment near the new Hotel 10 I believe it’s called, just at the end of the dove walk. We have owned our place for over 35 years now,and although we have been fortunate to travel extensively we always love returning to Benidorm x
Absolutely enjoyed our 2 weeks down LaCala side of Benidorm stopping in the Gran Bali. Popped into a couple of the bar's and restaurants on the sea front. La Cala is such a peaceful and relaxing part of Benidorm we don't see very often.
I did enjoy a Sunday morning walk to the bottom of Poniente whist I was down in May. I really enjoyed the vibe of some of the places down the bottom - very relaxed and lovely ambience - lovely to see again!
Every time the Jones’s are in Benidorm we walk all the way {including up and over the headland } to |a Cala Finestrat. The beaches are usually quiet, the bars are just as good, so a day out breaks up a busy week.
Thanks for this tour of Poniente beach. My wife and I are regulars at "Corona Del Mare", which is handy for the old town, but also for the more relaxed Poniente area. Just booked up for a 4 week stay in January 2024. Looking forward to meeting up with friends we have made here, British, Spanish and Belgian. Language no barrier to friendship!
We always keep an eye out for you, but never been in the right place at the right time. We are going to try the "Kaktus" hotel in Albir in October. Something I particularly enjoy about being in Benidorm in January is going for an early morning jog along Poniente beach. It is usually dark when I set out, but on the way back, I am treated to the fabulous sunrise firstly behind the Fort, then lighting all of the beautiful buildings along the front. What a way to escape the Scottish Winter! @@LucyYoungTBE
Great video lucy. 👍 I love poniente beach I think it's much nicer than Levante. We've stayed at Beni beach apartments a few times, and love the walk into the old town day & night. There's some fab bar's & cafes down the front. We've walked to the very end several times. Last time was last Nov, love seeing all the cats at the end. 🐈🐺 Usually always end up feeding them. 🐈🐱🐾😁 I love that little park at the end too. Nice to sit & relax at after that long walk. And then always stop for a nice cold drink somewhere on the way back & maybe a snack. 🍹🌮🌯 Looking forward to seeing other videos down this end. I wish more British would venture down there. 😁👍😎🌴🍹☕
We often walk along this way, from the hotel Villa Del Mar. Definitely fewer Brits, and it has a much more Spanish feel. Plenty of places to stop for refreshments. We actually walked further up, at Christmas, to the Tossal de la cala (although it was closed off). The previous day, we'd walked to the other side of Benidorm, and up to the cross 🙂. That was part of our training for the London Marathon - fun times. Amazing views from both places.
Its a lot quieter at night than the Levante end. There are lots of low rise apartment blocks and actual houses. Most of the bars stay open late but the best ones are always busy.
So much better this side so many people never give it a try , always stay in gran bali and love the walk around towards the old town , but this year being there in July made it a tough walk in that heat 😂😂
We love the Poniente beach side of the resort and always take a stroll there for a lunchtime drink during our yearly visit to fantastic Benidorm. Love it x
Thank you for the video, Lucy, and team. We started walking down that area last year and gave up. Hopefully, when we are over in october, we will walk to the end it would be nice to do so. It looks like a nice part of Benidorm. Would be nice to see a video of the nightlife that end.
Another great video Lucy,,, The whole Poniente end is a world away from Levante. Its always quieter even in summer. I like walking Levante but never in the summer as there are too many tourists. The bars and restaurants along the Poniente end are better as well. We always visit Poker. Great little bar and the food is always good and fresh. Walk all the way to the end and go up the hill to the Old Roman fort looking across the bays of Benidorm is great as well. We live inland and rarely venture to the Levante end these days, except to go to Rays2.
Top class as usual. Never knew it was that nice up there. Definitely on the agenda when we visit at Xmas. Would love to see what's going on in the evening as well! Keep up the good work Lucy! 👍👍
Brilliant video Lucy. We stayed at The Gran Bali 5 years ago, it’s a really nice area, yes, more content from that end would be fab. This September we are staying down the end of Lavente, total change but looking forward to a lively break.
We're from Manchester and love that area. Our favourite part of Benidorm. We stay very close to Delfin Tower- watched it being built. Some fab Spanish bars. Nirvana great for a pit stop. Massai is great at night - beach front location. Great drinks and perfect for people watching! We're back next week ❤ managed to meet you when we were in Winners in May 😊
Loved the video..Me and my partner stayed at the Gran Bali hotel..Unfortunately the top half was closed when we went so we never got the great view..Took us a good 45 mins to walk to the new town..We got a taxi back lol.. I remember meeting Frank Carson in a bar and buying him a pint..To be sure..He was a nice man..God bless him
At the end of the beach there is an old fort above a nice little village (only been once so not familiar with the terms to use). Anyway from the top of the fort, which was free entry, the views were amazing.
Would love to see more out of the way places in Benidorm, we have walked round a few places where most tourists don’t venture and found some lovely local bars and restaurants , usually cheaper too. 😊
¡Por fin has llegado a mi rincón! English translator: You've finally come to my corner! Portus Massai (my favorite bar for any time of the day) and Torre Dorada hotel for accommodation. I think it's the first time they appear in your videos. Hicimos un par de videos aquí antes, pero hace mucho tiempo. Me encanta esta parte de Benidorm, pero no quiero que se vuelva tan popular porque eso arruinaría su encanto ❤️
Hi Lucy, we often wander along Poniente. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere. We'd also like to see some more videos from this area.😉 Kay also said that's the most tanned she's seen you, and you don't look as tired...... I don't know if that's a compliment or not? 😂

Was the Poniente playa the los Garcia back in the seventies look like it there was underground walkway from the poolside to the beach it was a great hotel back in those days
Loved this video and yes can we have more of this please. Also would be good to get an update on the camping / caravan sites. I hear lots of positive feedback about them
Thanks Lucy. Great video. My favourite part of Benidorm. Sad that my favourite hotel there (Gran Delfin) is no more. I have stayed there many times (first time was in the late 60s). Was also lovely sitting on their front terrace drinking a cocktail. I am not sure I like what they are doing with the new tower buildings in that area. I hope they don't spoil it too much
It is sad, its kinda iconic for many that have been visiting Benidorm a long time. I too hope they don't spoil that end too much going over the top. That new tower block looks immense though it will definitely be interesting to see how it develops x
The Poseidon Playa is a great hotel and, as you say, fantastic views, we stayed on the 11th floor. The beach is great and there are several very good cafe/bars down there. The view from the top of the Gran Hotel Bali, the tallest hotel in Europe,is fantastic. If you want a bit of history (yes, history in Benidorm) visit the Roman Castellum at the southern end of Poniente. Well worth venturing down this side of Benidorm
The Poseidon Playa was called the Hotel Las Garzas when I stayed there und loved it. Back in those days, to access the beach we had to use a subway under the dual carriageway that was the main road in from Alicante, which straddled three quarters of the Poniente Beach front. Love that part of town but pretty crap if the strip is your thing.
Really enjoyed this video. As someone who is not into pounding rock music and late nights., I really appreciated this quiet alternative near Benidorm. Could you explain how to enjoy a day at the beach i.e. getting beach chairs and umbrellas. We appreciated your explanation of places to stay along your walk. We are traveling from Texas, we want to have access to restaurants and shopping but a quiet beach and place to stay. Many thanks.

TORTUGA BEACH is an awesome restaurant really great food. The Beer is amazing as well.
Super view of a different part of Benidorm.

I Love Friends it's My Favourite TV Series and it's very funny, I do watch it
Every time the Jones’s are in Benidorm we walk all the way {including up and over the headland } to |a Cala Finestrat. The beaches are usually quiet, the bars are just as good, so a day out breaks up a busy week.
Good to see the roads been finished, in May this year it was still a building site
it certainly does break it up, always good to change it up a bit 👍

Different world at that end Lucy 🤔🤔 x
We go there everytime we go to benidorm walk to Bali hotel back again with plenty of stops
We always visit Poniente really enjoy the walk to the end. Great view and different to Levante

Great walk when we're up in Benidorm.
Due to stay down this end in 2 weeks looking forward to exploring the more ‘relaxed’ side to Benidorm 🌞 🌴 great vlog!
La Cala, My favourite part of Benidorm Lucy, thanks for taking us along. Sad to hear the Hotel Delfin is going to be demolished though.
Me and my dad on our 5th visit there randomly walked over that side one day, we thought it was weird we never went over that way at the time😅

Always loved staying at the Hotel Maricon, sorry Marconi. A Spanish version of Fawlty Towers
At the end of the beach there is an old fort above a nice little village (only been once so not familiar with the terms to use). Anyway from the top of the fort, which was free entry, the views were amazing.
yes incredible views from up there, we'll do a video soon 👍
Thanks Lucy what a place we have never been there but next year we will make it our goal for sure it's lovely Eric and Monica Dublin 😘
That luxury tower block looked like a sail, similar shape to the Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth. Nice to see a different side of Benidorm.
Would love to see more out of the way places in Benidorm, we have walked round a few places where most tourists don’t venture and found some lovely local bars and restaurants , usually cheaper too. 😊
Definitely more of "The area you don't see" videos please Lucy. Planning a walk into that area already, would love to know more.
Great to hear, we'll definitely do some more x
We always have a walk down there and up the steps over to the other side .
The little bar next to the New York is a much nicer place to eat, friendly staff, great food and lot cleaner
